The Roman City of Lincoln
Visit the city of Lincoln, one of the four main cities of Roman Britain. Start at
Lincoln Castle built by William The Conqueror which is home to one of only four remaining original copies of the Magna Carta. Take a historical tour of the castle to find out how it has been used over the centuries. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the castle grounds.

The Roman City of Lincoln
After your picnic lunch visit Lincoln Cathedral, one of the finest Medieval buildings in Europe, which featured in the recent film The Da Vinci Code. The cobbled streets of the Cathedral quarter of Lincoln has many specialist shops offering an arrangement of antique, craft, book and gift shops. Take time to look in them on your way home.

& Margaret Thatcher
Start in Grantham where Isaac Newton went to the renowned Kings’ School. On the way see the house where Britain’s only woman Prime Minister was born. Visit the imposing St Wulfram’s Church before taking to the high street and Grantham Museum. Visit the birthplace of the great scientist Sir Isaac Newton and see the tree that the famous apple originated from. Explore the science centre which demonstrates many of his theories.

Burghley House is the largest and grandest house of the first Elizabethan age. You will be amazed at the eighteen magnificent state rooms with their exquisite attention to detail and workmanship.
