Our visit will begin at the impressive Haddon Hall which is a popular location for many period dramas. This is a wonderful experience for history lovers. The romantic rose garden is in full bloom and fragrance throughout the summer. In the movie Haddon Hall was depicted as the Inn at Lambton and the dining hall was transformed into Elizabeth's bedroom.
A visit to Chatsworth House can never be forgotten. It is widely believed that this was the case for Jane Austen herself who is supposed to have used her view of Chatsworth for the description of Pemberley, the great Derbyshire mansion that belonged to Mr Darcy in Austen's classic novel. The exterior of Chatsworth and two important rooms within it were featured in the movie.
Chatsworth is one of the finest stately homes in Britain with landscaped grounds by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown it oozes majesty and elegance. During April and May there is a wonderful tulip display in the grounds in front of the challenging maze.
This area is the perfect haven for lunch before exploring the house, grounds and gift shops.
